Jackson Crow

Hello! My name is Jackson Crow, and I’m from Frisco,Texas. I am a junior at the University of Oklahoma and pursuing a degree in advertising with a minor in digital marketing.

My Way or the Highway

Walking down Corso Italia, the main road of Arezzo, my friends and I stumbled upon the My Way bar. The music, as well as the led lights, glistened through the doors peaked our interest enough to draw us through the front doors.

When we walked in however, not only were there no customers but no bartender behind the bar. We stood there in confusion debating whether or not to stay as there was not a single soul in the establishment. As my friend and I conversed, a man appeared behind the bar out of thin air.

“My friends! What would you all like to drink,” he asked.

“Two Hugos please,” I said.

Having not much faith in the bar, as I didn’t have the best impression to start our experience, we decided to stick with the safest drink that we both enjoyed. To my surprise, the bartender made the drinks faster than I could pull out my card to pay.

We moved outside and began conversing about our time here in Arezzo, the presentation that we were both terrified about giving the next day, our lives back home as well as in Norman and our hopes and dreams for life post-college as Adele’s voice played over the speakers inside and onto the patio of the bar.

As I brought the drink up to my parched lips, a lemony, minty aroma filled my nose before I took my first sip. My faith was restored in the bar after taking a sip of the cold, flavorful drink that hit my tongue and coated my mouth and throat.

Having had a long and busy day, we both drank our Hugos in probably record time, and went inside for another while more Adele filled the air. The Hugos at My Way were more expensive than they were at other local bars in the area, however they still did not disappoint.

After ordering our second and final drink of the evening, we continued to converse about life. Having to polish up our final presentation that we both had the following day, we decided it was time to head home to meet with our teams and make our last minute touch-ups and rehearse together as a group. We brought our glasses inside, thanked the bartender for the delicious, refreshing drinks and made our way back home.
