Night & Day

Sunni Thompson
Hello everyone! My name is Sunni Thompson. I’m from Amarillo, Texas and am a junior studying advertising with a minor in digital marketing. This program in Arezzo has helped me so much with understanding different cultures and immersing myself into new experiences, especially with food. I have tried so much amazing food and had a lot of fun adventures since I’ve been here. Thank you for reading my piece and allowing me to share about Divo Cocktail Bar – one of my favorite spots. Ciao!
Fine Sipping With Divo
On a rainy day in Arezzo, stepping into the cool vibe of Divo was the perfect afternoon pick-me-up. The well-established cocktail bar, located on Piazzo San Francesco was furnished with small wooden tables lit by small lamps. To anyone looking for a place to sit down and relax after a long day, Divo is the perfect spot for anything relating to high-quality drinks or a superb aperitif experience.
On the menu that day, my group was searching for the simple pleasures of a well-made beverage. The waiter gave us small black books filled with plenty of options, which we pondered over for a few moments before making the game-time decision. One dirty martini, pink spritz and fizz berry later, and we were settled in for a while.
My drink of choice was the dirty martini, served in a sophisticated glass with three olives. Holding to its reputation, the drink was extremely bitter and tasted almost entirely of gin. It was difficult to swallow. But once the initial burn passed, it became more manageable. However, I would not recommend the drink to anyone with weaker tastebuds or disdain for strong flavors.

The complimentary finger foods that came next made up for the initial martini disappointment. Bowls of nutty pecans, salty chips and a plate of pigs in a blanket arrived at our table following the first round of drinks. It was the perfect combination of savory treats to serve as a light snack before heading to dinner.
Overall, I would rate Divo Cocktail Bar as a great hangout spot for a quick drink and delicious snacks – despite my experience with the martini. Instead, I would recommend the crisp and refreshing pink spritz my friend ordered.
The restaurant’s ambiance was unmatched; the darker lighting and upbeat techno music invite you to dance along and leave any worries at the door. Whether you are searching for a cool place to lay low in the afternoon or a fun environment at the end of the night – Divo is the place to be.
