Hi! My name is Caleb Hicks and I have a Public Relations major! I have taken full advantage of every part of this trip and one of the best things I have found is the Appertivo. I love exploring more about the Italian food culture and this was the best way I have so far.

Sunrise Surprise

Vasari Cafe proved to be the perfect way to take off some of the edge after a very long day of class. Located inside the Piazza Grande, the Vasari Cafe is one of the most well-known and established restaurants in Arezzo. Outdoor seating was the only option, but with what appeared to be over 50 tables available, there was no issue finding the perfect place to enjoy Aperitivo.

Once I sat down, I received the menu and had a difficult decision to make on what to drink with all the available options. The waiter provided her recommendations and told a few jokes while I pondered my options. Eventually, I decided on the Tequila Sunrise.

While I waited for my drink, the waitress brought two types of chips and some nuts to snack on. I thoroughly enjoyed these delicious snacks, especially the chips. In one container, there were some typical potato chips, but the other had a chip that appeared to be a corn chip. I couldn’t ever figure out exactly what it was, but it was a sort of mix between corn and potato.

Once my drink arrived, my jaw dropped to the floor. It was such a beautifully made drink, and I could not have been more impressed. The color change from a reddish color at the bottom to a light orange was simply astonishing. It was foamy at the top with an orange slice and some cranberries that tied the entire look together.

When I eventually took a drink, the flavors danced in my mouth like a fruity party. I could still slightly taste the tequila, but it was not overwhelming. I got to enjoy the drink for what it was, with no overwhelming sensations that would ruin the experience. Quite frankly, it's the best drink I’ve had while here in Arezzo.

Overall, I genuinely enjoyed my experience at Vasari Cafe. The aperitivo experience is the best you’ll find in Arezzo. You will definitely catch me there again very soon.
