Luke Smith

Hello! My name is Luke Smith and I'm an incoming senior majoring in creative media production. I'm originally from Grapevine, Texas and have only been out of the country two times before coming to Italy. I've always wanted to travel and live abroad, so being here in Italy surrounded by amazing food and wonderful sights is a dream come true. I've really enjoyed attempting to capture some of the magic behind some of my favorite foods, and I hope you will enjoy it too!

Pizzeria Del Corso

One bite and I confidently stated, “This is the best pizza I’ve ever had.” This was my first experience eating at Pizzeria Del Corso, and now two weeks later, after way too many visits, I still stand by my first impression.

As soon as you walk into the restaurant, you are greeted by the friendly faces of the staff putting out various styles of pizza ranging from spicy salami to anchovies. There is something for everyone to enjoy.

While pizza is definitely the highlight, they also offer sandwiches, calzones and surprisingly enough, hot dogs. However, if the sights of the full, mouth-watering pizzas aren’t enough, then the smells that overtake you upon entry will surely get you hooked.

The fresh ingredients on display inside, including the wonderfully flavorful tomato sauce, overwhelm your senses when you take your first bite. One of the most striking things about the pizza is the fullness of the crust, a perfect middle ground between being too doughy and too crunchy.

If you’re similar to me and it’s one of your first experiences abroad, or in Italy, this pizza will be reminiscent of the American variants while making every aspect just a little bit better. For seating, there are nice shaded tables outside and a separate room inside decorated with beautiful art and a fish tank against the window.

Overall, I would rate my experience at Pizzeria Del Corso as an overwhelmingly positive one that I would recommend to anyone looking for a small but delightful restaurant with welcoming staff and possibly some of the best pizza you’ve ever had.
